Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
report was made Wednesday December 26. If you have anything to add call

The ORCHARD ORIOLE continues to be seen at the corner of Gregory Lane and
Oceanview Drive south of Brookings. The DICKCISSEL coming to a White City
feeder since December 1 also remains.

An immature YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER found December 15 coming to an apple
tree at the corner of 4th. and Ocean in Bay City is still being seen. On
December 23 a male LESSER GOLDFINCH was in Bay City.

Late TURKEY VULTURES were reported during the week from West Eugene, east
of Astoria at Brownsmead, and at Scoggins Valley Park south of Forest
Grove. Two late BONAPARTE'S GULLS were at Gearhart December 21 and three
were at Fernhill Wetlands December 22. Over 300 Thayer's Gulls and 2000
HERRING GULLS were gathered at Siletz Bay December 22.

On December 24 an EMPEROR GOOSE was at Yaquina Head north of Newport. A
MOCKINGBIRD was in Tillamook December 25.

A subadult male BULLOCK'S ORIOLE was at a Seaside feeder December 23.
That day 200 WESTERN GREBES, 20,000 SURF SCOTERS, 2000 WHITE-WINGED
SCOTERS, and 300 BLACK SCOTERS were at Seaside Cove. On December 21 over
15,000 SANDERLINGS and DUNLIN were on Clatsop Beach. On December 23 a
male RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD appeared at an Astoria feeder.

The LONG-TAILED DUCK continues to be seen at the Fruit Valley Sewage
Ponds in Vancouver. The REDPOLLS at Portland's Oaks Bottom remain. A male
COSTA'S HUMMINGBIRD remains in Beaverton. A LARK SPARROW is now in
Minto-Brown Park in Salem.

An adult gray phase GYRFALCON was seen December 21 along Livermore Road
north of Baskett Slough NWR. Seven CHIPPING SPARROWS were found December
22 in the American Bottoms south of Independence. A large stick nest
containing eight MONK PARAKEETS has been in Scio for over a year.

A PACIFIC GOLDEN-PLOVER was seen December 24 southwest of Tangent along
Country Road. A LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE was in the same area. The NASHVILLE
WARBLER continues to be seen in Eugene, but apparently the TENNESSEE
WARBLER and BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER have left.

A pair of ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS continue to come to a Bend feeder. Four
AMERICAN TREE SPARROWS were at Summer Lake Decembe 18. On December 23 a
GREAT GRAY OWL and two WILLIAMSON'S SAPSUCKERS were at Spring Creek west
of LaGrande.
