Thursday, December 20th, 9:42PM. Hi, this is Stephen Mlodinow, today Bill
Tweit, Gene Hunn, Dennis Duffy, Ryan Shaw and I went up and saw the IVORY
GULL. The bird showed up around 2:30 at the previous mentioned location (to
get directions to this bird call the Vancouver Bird Tape at (604) 737-3074
and hit option 4). Prior to the bird showing up at this location, it had
been nearby along Westport Road. Access to this road may or may not allow
trespassing as it depends on whom you ask. Also if you go down that road
there is a chance you might get trapped by a train that could hold you up for
several hours at a time. Anyway, the bird flew in about 2:30, settled down
to rest after having fed all day and was there when we left at 4:00. Thats
all and good birding.

Sunday, December 23rd, 8:27AM. Hi, this is Stephen Mlodinow, yesterday Marv
Breece, Sam Terry, Ryan Shaw and I saw the YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER in Twisp.
To find the bird, take Rt 20 heading NW through Twisp. After you cross the
Twisp River, take the first left, which is Ainsworthy; then almost
immediately take another left onto Barger, and the second house on the left
is where the bird is coming to suet and apples. When its there, its very
active, aggressively chasing chickadees and other birds, and is frequently
"chipping" as well. Also we saw the bird across the Twisp River later in the
day, several blocks away with a loose flock of chickadees. Other highlights
on the trip included: over 600 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS in the Twisp/Winthrop area,
north of Winthrop along the road that goes along the Chenuch River(Sp), and
the road that goes to Perrygin State Park. We also had 150 or so COMMON
REDPOLLS, 55 PINE GROSBEAKS, and a sapsucker, mostly Red-breasted, but had
some Red-naped genes as well. Thats it and good birding.

Sunday, December 23rd, 3:21PM. This is Dennis Duffy. Today, there was a
EURASIAN GREEN-WINGED TEAL in the Edmonds marsh. This is the 4th consecutive
year one has been present in the marsh.

Monday, December 24th, 6:39AM. Hi this is Stephan Mlodinow, yesterday at
Spencer Island there was a flock of 15-30 COMMON REDPOLLS. Take the cross
dike to the eastside of the island. There Dennis Paulsen had them just north
of the dike, and shortly I just had them a little south of the dike. Thats
all and good birding.

Monday Demember 24th, 5:43PM. Hi this is Ruth Taylor (206) 781-7216. This
afternoon about 3:20, there was a brown GYRFALCON on the smoke stack in
Stanwood. It was a very heavily marked bird with bluish feet, cere, and eye
ring.

Monday, Demember 24th, 7:29PM. His this is Allan Knue. Today allan Grennan
and I birded Spencer Island, Arlington Airport area, Skagit Wildlife Area,
and Stanwood. The best bird by far was the GYRFALCON reported earlier by
Ruth Taylor. We saw it about 2:45PM along Thomle Rd which is just up from
Marine Dr, south of Stanwood. Other birds we observed were: between 40-50
REDPOLLS at Spencer Island; a good number of RED-CROSSBILLS along the
westside of the Arlington Airport; and a NORTHERN SHRIKE at the north accress
to the Skagit Wildlife Area. That is thank you.

Tuesday, December 25th, 8:55AM. Hi, this is Greg Toffic, Merry Christmas.
Yesterday was a REDPOLL bonanza for me. I, along with Allan Knue and Allan
Grennan saw about 50 REDPOLLS at Spencer Island just as you enter the island
right by the bridge. About 3:30 in the afternoon, at the Snohomish Sewage
Ponds, there were 70 REDPOLLS just northwest of the entry to the plant along
the wet area north of the road.

Tuesday, December 25th, 8:45PM. Hi, this is Stephen Mlodinow. Today there
was a HARRIS'S SPARROW at Ebby Island near Everett. Take US 2 to the
Homeacres RD exit, that's heading east from Everett, go south on Homeacres Rd
and the sparrow was 100yds or so before the first house on your left. Note
that part of the road is flooded but its very easy to get through with a high
clearance vehicle such as a pick-up or SUV, however a small sedan might have
trouble. Thats it and good birding.
