Hello Birders,
There is a trumpeter swan with a satellite transmitter on her collar in
the Grays Harbor area. She was banded in McGrath, Alaska by a school group
and then migrated to north Vancouver Island for a while, then to the
Chehalis dairy farms for a few weeks and as of yesterday was on the flats
just south of Bowerman Airport. The birds name is "Grandma".
We will appreciate any one who sees her to let me know. Her collar is
green with numbers on it.
If you want to know her whereabouts as of yesterdays downlink, put the
following coordinates into the boxes at the website
http://www.topozone.com/finddd.asp
46.943
123.092 be sure to put a minus sign in front of this number when
entering it into the grid.
A map will pop up with her location in the center.
Also, does anyone have a count of the swans in the Chehalis Valley area? If
so, can you send it to me.
Thanks.
Martha Jordan
