To clarify the location of some mixed common redpoll flocks in Seattle today, Marsh Island is in Union Bay and is accessible by the foot path from the parking lot behind the Museum of History and Industry. Marsh Island and Foster Island are to the east of the lot, and are reached via the foot path.
Some of the redpolls seen in the afternoon today were west of the Montlake Bridge near the Seattle Yacht Club and the NOAA fisheries facility, on the west side of 23rd Ave E, near the on-ramp for west bound 520 to I-5. It's an easy walk from the Museum to the Seattle Yacht Club. The yacht club is southwest of the Montlake Bridge, but north of hiway 520, and birch trees line the parking strip. The museum and the yacht club are both within a block or two of the Montlake Bridge, so it's all easily accessible for most people on foot. The Montlake Fill is also within walking distance, perhaps a mile or so to the NE, on the other side of the drawbridge, beyond the UW Waterfront Activities Center/Canoe House.

I found the flock today by following the flock of birders; I was ready to go home when word came that we needed to go west.

Good Birding,
