....................To my knowledge BLACK PHOEBES do not range north of
Northern Calif.( I have observed them in the central valley area of Calif.).
....................SAY'S PHOEBES and EASTERN PHOEBES have been observed
in this area (Julia Butler Hansen NWR--Cathlamet, Wash.) before, but
only once or twice in history, and....are thus called 'accidentals'. I
personally have never observed any Phoebes in this whole area of ours.
....................However, rare strays do wander in,
so.........anything is possible. A Black Phoebe *could* be possible, but
if so, would need to be verified and documented, I would think, because
of the *extreme* rarety of this species in this locality.
