I went with Andy and Ellen Stepniewski to look for the Northern Hawk Owl
that Bill and Nancy LaFramboise found yesterday eight miles west of
Bickleton, Klickitat County. There were many birders there including Mike
and MaryLynne Denny but there was no Northern Hawk Owl. In fact, there were
more birders in the area than there were bird species.

We got great looks at two Northern Pygmy Owls. The burn in which the NHOW
was seen is massive, though many trees within the burn are still living.
The range of this owl could also be very big.
