Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This

The bright male SUMMER TANAGER reported in the Cedar Mill section of
northwest Portland is now consistently coming to feeders and is being
seen daily. Turn north off Cornell Road onto 143d Street and park in the
Mill Ridge Estates parking lot. Walk north along the alleyway to a
lavender banner near a lamp post. You can see the feeders from that area.

On February 2 a RUSTY BLACKBIRD was at Colin Dillingham's feeders near
Gold Beach. On February 4 the RUSTY was seen again along with a CAPE MAY
WARBLER. If interested in seeing these birds contact Colin Dillingham at
541-247-4752.

On February 1 the Bingen, Washington BLUE JAY was seen at the corner of
Garfield and Lincoln and the TUFTED DUCK was on the Columbia River near
the pilings upstream of the marina. A HARRIS'S SPARROW was at Bingen
Pond. On February 3 a BLUE JAY was photographed in Redmond and an adult
male TUFTED DUCK was photographed on the Astoria Sewage Ponds.

During the week migrant TURKEY VULTURES arrived including one near Black
Butte Ranch on the east slope of the Cascades. A male RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD
was at a Waldport feeder February 4, the next day two males were there.

ROCK SANDPIPERS are still be reported from the North Jetty of the Siuslaw
River and from the South Jetty of Yaquina Bay. On February 3 a PIGEON
GUILLEMOT and a LONG-TAILED DUCK were at Yaquina Bay. Up to 50 KITTIWAKES
have been reported during the week from the Boiler Bay Viewpoint. Nine
BALD EAGLES were reported from the Tillamook area February 4, apparently
the eagles are now moving north. The PELAGIC CORMORANTS are now getting
their white flank patches.

A HARRIS'S SPARROW was seen February 3 on Sauvie Island at the East Side
Checking Station where one wintered last year. A second winter GLAUCOUS
GULL was reported during the week from northeast Portland. A TOWNSEND'S
SOLITAIRE was at Mt. Scott in southeast Portland February 2. The BLACK
PHOEBE is still being seen in Milwaukie and another is now in Yamhill
County south of Dayton near the end of Dorsey Road.

Two TREE SWALLOWS were reported Janaury 26 from the EE Wilson SWA. A
ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOW was reported February 3 from Simpson Park in Albany.
