Hey Tweets,
Spent a gorgeous afternoon at Point No Point scanning the birds with hopes
of an Arctic Loon. No luck on that, It has been 5 attempts for an ARLO now
for me, which qualifies it as a Nemesis bird. (Shoulda gone for it that one
day Steve, instead of chasing that Bewick's Swan, hehe). Oh and all of you
that have seen ARLO in more than one county, I hate you! Well, not really,
just quite jealous :)
Anyways, where was I? Oh yes, a gorgeous afternoon at Point No Point.
Skies were quite clear, no wind, Nice birds, all was well.
The riptide was just full of RED-NECKED GREBES and BONAPARTE'S GULLS, no
Little Gull in sight, only 6 PACIFIC LOONS, a few fly-by COMMON MURRES.
RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS were quite common there too, which I always love to
see.

Also took the ferry from Kingston to Edmonds, the ferry was quite birdless,
except for a few GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULLS, 2 MEW GULLS, and 1 adult HERRING
GULL.
Spent about an hour at Water Street in Edmonds looking for the ARLO again,
didn't even see a single loon, let alone an imposter Arctic. Lots of BRANT
along the shoreline and a few of both species of GOLDENEYE and a pair of
HARLEQUIN DUCKS.
Then the fun part was fighting my way back home through Seattle Traffic back
to Olympia, which sure is fun.....
