I saw a GREEN HERON at Narbeck on Saturday morning when I was leaving
work at 7 AM. It seems early IF they all migrate every year. Do some of
them sometime stick around? What about BITTERNS? I have seen them at Big
Ditch in both December and January of this year. I thought they migrated
too.
Is it possible that the Green Herons and Bitterns I have seen this
winter are migrants from farther north and will return north later in the
year (while the ones from here who moved south return to this area)? All I
know for sure is that these birds are around this winter.
