A Newport High School(Bellevue) Ecology field trip up north had some
wonderful highlights- the 2 Snowy Owls at Big Ditch, 6 Long-eared Owls
at the end of New Westminster Hwy in Richmond, 2 Barn Owls in Ladner, 1
Northen Goshawk and 1 Peregrine Falcon at Reifle in Ladner.
Missing in action at Reifle were Saw-whets, Wood Ducks and Barred Owls.
I can't remember ever missing the first two at Reifle, yet this year
this has happened a couple of times. Unfortunately we missed the N. Hawk
Owl both at 10:00 am and then again at 4:00 pm at the Stein RD.
location. The others that we queried said that they had not seen it as
well. Is it still around?
