.................Sunday at Ridgefield NWR-----River-S Unit.(just north of
Vanc. Wash.):.
.................An obliging female Kestrel posed on a tree branch for
all her admirers ---by the entrance.
.................Some 300-possibly 400 Sandhill Cranes by the dike at the
west end (far too many for me to even try to count!!! (-: ).
.................Billions of Canada Geese----large ones; medium-sized
ones; and smaller grayish ones.......Just geese....geese....and *more*
geese everywhere!!!!
.................Some 18 odd Tundra Swans---in small groups at assorted
locations.
.................All the ducks you would ever want to see. Pintails
everywhere, along with Green-wing Teals, Hooded and Common Mergansers,
and a bunch of Ring-Necks..........along with the zillions of the other
usual webbed winter residents.
.................One Bald Eagle; a nice big Red- tailed Hawk, and several
Harriers.
.................And-----a tiny Marsh Wren did cross my path. Nothing
really unusual or uncommon this time around-----just "gobs" of
everything winged, and "not-winged" ( (like plenty of Nutria ambling
around!!!).

.................Thanks for all the helpful info. and web-site references
for my scope and bino hunt. I have pretty much decided on the brand and
style----now I am hunting for the lowest price.
.................AAA Camera is "bad news" according to comments on
several web sites. I won't touch them "with a 10-foot pole"!!!!!! More
on this later.

.................Cheers
