Saturday: Observed the pair of bald eagles on Harbor Avenue across from
Salty's restaurant. One of the pair repeatedly harvested tall grass from the
former Metro property at Harbor Avenue and Fairmount and brought it into the
nest. The other perched on a branch a few yards from the nest. (This is the
new nest they have been building, as their last nest in a nearby tree fell
apart in mid-2000 as the young were fledging.)

Sunday: About 2:30 pm. One great blue heron sat on a branch near one of the
four heron nests clustered near the deadend of NW 92nd and 26th Avenue NW, in
the "North Beach Natural Area." (Note to Don Harris and Marcia Flynn: this
is adjacent to M. Browne's property.)
