That's a high number for the Tri-Cities. They were definitely migrants.
Interestly we saw at least 4 Golden Eagles at Cold Springs NWR, Oregon,
yesterday, Feb 18..
(about 30 miles south) Probably the same birds.

Also, we noted lots of migrant waterfowl arrivals at Cold Springs NWR during
the afternoon of Feb 18. I estimated 100 a minute for an hour. Mostly
Canada Geese & Mallards, but also several hundred Lesser Scaup, & a few
Pintail & Wigeon. Already on the reservoir were over
500 Common Mergansers. Best bird was one wintering Greater Yellowlegs. No
White-fronted Geese.
