I worked at the UW for over a year and had a view of the water from my lab.
During the fall and winter, every day at about a half hour before dusk,
hundreds (if not a couple a thousand) of crows would fly to their roosts in
and near the Washington Park Arboretum. You could practically set your
watch to it. I don't remember seeing this during spring and summer. There
is a big crow study being done by the UW, even asking people who see banded
crows to call in and report them, and last time I checked the Washington
Ornithological Society had a link to it (www.wos.org). This may no longer
be the case, but I'm sure you could at least find a link somewhere on the UW
website.
