Denver Holt, director of the Owl Institute in Montana, will be presenting
two lectures next week (one near Mt. Vernon and one in Seattle). The subject
will be his 11 year study of nesting Snowy Owls near Barrow, Alaska.
Denver is an engaging speaker and has had extensive experience with many
species of North American owls.
The first talk will be held at the Fredonia Grange near Burlington, WA,
at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, 28 February. Please note that this location has
been changed from the nearby Padilla Bay Center. The Grange building is
located just NE of the junction of Highway 20 and Farm-to-Market Road,
adjacent to the highway.
The second talk will be held on Thursday night, March 1, at 7pm at the
Center for Urban Horticulture in Seattle.
Both lectures are being sponsored by the Falcon Research Group as part of
our continuing program to introduce local birders to different raptor
experts. Both talks are open to the general public. A $3 donation is
requested but not required.
