Banding birds has many uses as previously explained. The American Bird
Bander has published records of both national and international
significant recoveries. I've gone through records of recoveries of birds
I have banded and extracted a few for what they are worth. Something a
little different than the comments about birds that are usually found on
this web. Might be interesting: maybe not and concern some of my banding
efforts during the years. To wit:

Terminology as follows. AHY means after hatching year. HY means
hatching year (bird hatched that year). L means local or a bird known to
be produced at that site. M means male, F means female and U means
undetermined sex or age. "Nuff said.

Some of the seabirds I banded in the Nortwestern Hawaiian Islands a long

for the species according to the Bird Banding Laboratory.

White Tern banded on Sand Island, Midway as a AHY U on 1-26-64

Have some records of Red-winged and Brewer's Blackbird banded in the
Sequim area being recovered near Victoria, British Columbia asnywhere
from 9-10 months later. One over 5 years later.

These are a few of recovery reports of my banded birds. That's one of
the things about banding besides keeping voluminous records of other
things that go along with banding.

Time to hit the sack.
