Hello Tweets,

Today my mother and I birded part of the day in the Olmypia area of Thurston
Co, and the Brady area of Grays Harbor Co., where the weather was very nice,
as were most areas in W WA, with only some minor wind in East Bay area of
Olympia, as we started out, where the only highlight was a single GREATER
YELLOWLEGS. At the east end of Capitol Lake in Olympia, were 3 female
REDHEADS,(noted earlier in the winter at the location),among both species of
scaups, Ring-necked Ducks, and 8 Canvasbacks.

Next, at the Schouweiler Rd. wetland, west of Elma, temperatures began to
warm up quite nicely, as we walked the trail through the extensive wetland,
as highlights included:

2 TRUMPETER SWANS
1 pair of BARROW'S GOLDENEYES(among 7 Common Goldeneyes, being a notable
find for the location, as Barrow's Goldeneyes tend to be much tougher to
find along the immediate coastal WA counties, including Grays Harbor and
Pacific Cos.)
1 Hairy Woodpecker

We birded the entire Brady Loop Rd. complex, but many species that were
noted earlier throughout the winter have gone, or are at a different
location including many waterfowl species. The following highlights were
noted, upon driving the entire loop:

1 Am.X Eurasian Wigen hybrid
1 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK
50 AM.PIPITS
4 Lincoln's Sparrows
5 Western Meadowlarks

1 Western Scrub Jay was noted, just east of Vance Creek County Park, along
Hwy.12 at Elma

Good birding,

Ruth and Patrick Sullivan
