Tweeters,
Made the pilgrimage to the holy shrine of the Mountain Quail (Aka -the Port
Orchard Airport) today with the usual hopes that I would finally see one of my
bogey birds. Amazingly at the south-west end along the new fence line, I managed
to see two.
There was a large group of people flying remote airplanes directly over the area
where the quail have been sighted in the past. One of the individuals that I
spoke with said that this has been going on during the weekends for quite a
while, and he also said that it also has become a more frequent event during
weekdays. I know this might sound wierd in that the quail live by an airport in
the first place, but I couldn't help but wonder how this increased activity is
effecting the birds. Has anyone been monitoring this population?
