What a surprise on 2/20/01 to find a beautiful alternate plumage Hermit
Warbler at 1000' Falls on the Mountain Pine Ridge of Belize. We had seen
quite a few Black-throated Greens around but this bird had no green
anywhere--just a black throat with white below, completely yellow face,
black nape and gray back. Three in our group thought they may have seen one
at this site last year but felt they needed another look just to be sure.
This time at least 10 people in 2
different groups admired this beautiful little bird. Our group also found
194 other species during our 8 days in Belize.
