Hi Tweets,
Saturday and Friday 2/24-25/2001 I visited Discovery Park, Seattle. Saturday
I reached late and could not see many birds, so I went again on Sunday also.

On saturday we had great looks at an actively working Pilated Woodpecker. On
both days, to the back side of the Indian Heritage Center, on treetops,
there were hundreds of Warblers actively singing and feeding. Sorry I could
not id them with my 10x bino, but they all looked very dull colored, like
Pine siskins. They all were putting a very nice musical show, as many
visitors were impressed with that. They all used to stop suddenly when any
raptor was passing by! On both days they disappeared by noon 12. Hopefully
someone will clarify who they were!

One disturbing observation, there were many off leash dogs, one dog was
chasing birds and the owner was proudly observing! Maybe, somewhere, the
park management should keep special area for off leash dogs (like Marymoor
Park), or impose the existing rule strictly!

The birds which I though I'll be able to see easily but COULD NOT SEE were
California Quail,Varied Thrush, and Band-tailed Pigeon. (may be any Owl).
