on the UW campus, all is fine, although some buildings are closed
until they have been inspected for gas leaks; until broken water
pipes are fixed; and until all the wisdom of the ages (i.e; books)
gracing the shelves in the libraries have been re-stacked so as to
not crush sleepy-eyed and unsuspecting students!

how's this for weird; the cell telephone system was down and the
regular telephone lines were so clogged as to be unusable. but i
could still send email! tres weird!
