Subject: quakes and animals

My cat, who used to be a basket case for days after any earthquake, was
just fine this afternoon when I got home from work.

I finally figured out why. The little old Ballard cottage I live in
shakes every time the washing machine hits the spin cycle (the machine is
a little off-balance) - so now he's used to the house moving under him!

Haven't seen the usual flock of sparrows around the neighborhood since,
though lots of gulls passing through.
