hello tweets,

i have been living on campus for the past ten days or so (well,
practically!) because i have so much to do. anyway, as i was
walking across campus this morning, i heard one of the many joyful
songs of the bewick's wren, "ZZZzzzzzz *chewy* *chewy* *chewy*"

i stopped, blinking in the bright sunlight and gazed at the hairy
trees framed by the saoft blue sky. i finally found him sitting alone
on a bare branch thirty feet above my head. his chocolate-brown
feathers were ruffled by the breezes as he opened his needle-thin
beak to sing, again and aagain, with his long tail thrown over his
back.

"ZZZzzzzz *chewy* *chewy* *chewy*!"
