Hi, Tweets, I got to The Fill today at about 2:30 and checked out the big
grassy area behind the CFUH buildings. There were 5 Northern Flickers and
one European Starling feeding in the grass. One of the Flickers few into a
tree and I was surprised to see a yellow, not red, flash as he flew. The
Kaufmann book was with me so I took several looks at it and the Flickers
and determined there were Red-Shafted Flickers (male and female), one male
Yellow-Shafted Flicker (it definitely had the red nape and black
moustache), and one hybrid (?; red nape and red moustache).

Aren't the Yellow-Shafted Flickers kinda uncommon around here???
