Hi:
The Fort St. James CBC was held on Dec. 30 on a fairly warm but overcast
day. The birding was slow for most of the day but some good birds were
found. My first bird for the day was a Northern Shrike and one other group
had a Barred Owl for there first bird.
Highlights for the day were
2 Barred Owls
2 Northern Hawk-owls
1 Northern Pigmy Owl
1 Belted Kingfisher
1 Townsend's Solitaire
Only 8 Common Redpoll
No House Sparrows
No Crossbills
The unofficial count for the day for the day was around 30 species.
