Hi All:

This morning, Judy DuVall and I saw what we first thought to be a Western
Kingbird on Thomle Rd. south of Stanwood. Since we were on a curve with no
place to pull over, we decided to drive past the bird, turn around, and come
back and scope it looking from east to west, so that we had it in good
light. Looking at it from the west with binoculars and the bird in
silhouette, it looked quite long-billed and rather flat-headed.
Unfortunately, while we were turning the car around at the end of the road,
a jogger flushed it. We could not relocate it.
Now a Western Kingbird on a sunny New Year's Day in Western Washington is a
good thing :-) , but - could it have been a Tropical? or? I hope someone
who doesn't have to work tomorrow or later this week can relocate the bird
and check it out.
