Dear Kindred Spirits,
My first bird species, Jan 01, 2001 was a pair of "sooty" variety
Fox Sparrows scolding me as I headed out on a forest trail to the sea,
near my condo complex. Not much else in the forest making any noise or
appearance till I got to Seahurst Beach...........scoters, grebes
(including a surprising Pied-Billed Grebe foraging in the open water!),
Barrow's Goldeneye and Bufflehead ducks, and lots of gulls, and fabulous
scenery, as usual.
