Hi
I will try to direct you to Burns Dr. to see the Slatey-back so here
goes..after coming across the border you will travel down the highway for
about 5 miles where you will go under an overpass. Watch for the next
overpass and turn right before you go under it.
It might say Hwy 10 exit but I'm not sure. You will come to some traffic
lights immediately. Go straight ahead and on your left immediately is Burns
Dr. Turn left and the gulls are in the fields here. There is a convalescent
home about a mile down and the slatey is usually just past here. The
Black-headed gull is in the same area but the address is 72 St. and 36 Ave.
You must get back on Hwy. 10 to get to 72 St. You might want to get a map at
the travel info center situated at the border.
Re; barred owl attacks.. last summer or late spring we had a media
advisory to be aware of a Barred Owl attacking people in a park by the
University of BC. The consensus was it was a young, inexperienced one
attacking anything that moved because it was unsure of what was prey and what
wasn't. My theory is the same as Alfred Hitchcocks (whatever that was) :>)

See you in the field,
