Tweeters,

On Saturday (1/6) my dad and I birded Douglas County and the Waterville
Plateau in Central Washington. We were looking for arctic migrants. The
highlights of our trip are as follows:

Rough-legged Hawk: 2 birds on the Waterville Plateau.
American Tree Sparrow: 2 birds in Foster Creek near the intersection
of Bridgeport Hill Road and Highway 17.
Snowy Owl: 1 young bird northeast of the intersection of Logan
and Sprauer Roads.
Snow Bunting: 120+ birds on Logan Road and Highway 172 heading
east from Mansfield. There were small numbers of
snow buntings mixed in with flocks of horned larks
along these roads.
Northern Shrike: 3 birds on the Waterville Plateau.
