This afternoon at ca. 2 PM I discovered a Lesser black-backed gull on the upstream end of Nelson Island in Richland. This location is about where Saint St. ends at the Columbia River. I had seen this species on Saturday, Jan. 6, at the Walla Walla River delta and was amazed to see it in Richland. It may well be the same bird or its identical twin.
