Hi,

Ken Orcutt and I birded Pacific County on Saturday, 6 January. It was an
incredibly clear and sunny day for the coast. Highlights were the
following birds. Most of these are similar to what was reported the
previous weekend.

Bay Center Dike Rd. - 1 AMERICAN BITTERN along the inlet (north) side of
the road, 20 WHITE-FRONTED GEESE in one of the pastures, and 2-3 BARN
SWALLOWS foraging at the junction with Highway 101.

Willapa NWR, Lewis Unit - 8 TRUMPETER SWANS

Black Lake in Ilwaco - 11 TRUMPETER SWANS (great looks)

Fort Canby State Park - 1 MOUNTAIN PLOVER at its standard location

Chinook Valley Rd - 1 WHITE-TAILED KITE

Fort Stevens State Park, South Jetty - No SNOWY OWL seen near Parking Lot
C. However we did have 2 probable LAPLAND LONGSPURS. The birds stuck
closely to the wetland grass when flushed several times, but never gave us
a view when on the ground.
