As an addendum to Brian Bell's note about our day, after seeing the Northern
Hawk Owl we headed back south, cruising through the Sammish (where there were
harriers a few Rough-legged Hawks, and several hundred Trumpeter Swans), the
Skagit Flats (where there was a huge flock of Snow Geese too far away to
count), and on down towards Stanwood.

At the Big Ditch we did see one SNOWY OWL, well out on a log.

In Stanwood, we failed to find the Great-tailed Grackle reported yesterday.
There were many other birders looking for it, so I assume from the silence on
Tweeters that NO ONE saw the grackle today??? If someone did, please post the
details. It sure wasn't where it was yesterday...
