Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
report was made Wednesday January 10. If you have anything to add call

On January 6 a possible brown phase GYRFALCON was at Finley NWR. An adult
and two immature WHOOPER SWANS are now in the White Lake Unit of Lower
Klamath NWR. So far they have remained south of Stateline Road. A
GYRFALCON has been reported occasionally south of Klamath Falls. A
GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE is in Tule Lake just over the border in California.
The BLUE JAY continues to come to a feeder at 1866 Hope Street in Klamath
Falls.

The TUFTED DUCK continues to be seen in Bingen, Washington.

On January 8 a BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK and two BROWN PELICANS were in
Brookings. In northern Curry County January 7 a BULLER'S SHEARWATER, a
SABINE'S GULL, a BARN SWALLOW, and a TURKEY VULTURE were seen. Also on
January 7 three BULLER'S SHEARWATERS, two LONG-TAILED DUCKS, and five
ANCIENT MURRELETS were at the Siuslaw River mouth. The next day a GOSHAWK
was near the North Jetty of the Siuslaw River.

At least five ROCK SANDPIPERS were on Barview Jetty at Tillamook Bay
January 8. An immature male RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD is now coming to an
Astoria feeder.

On January 8 a singing CASSIN'S VIREO was heard in Aloha. A bright male
BULLOCK'S ORIOLE has been coming to a northeast Portland suet feeder
since late December and continues to be seen.

Among a minor southward hawk movement January 5 at the Fernhill Wetlands
in Forest Grove were a TURKEY VULTURE and a FERRUGINOUS HAWK. A group of
six CHIPPING SPARROWS were in a berry patch along Campbell Road south of
Hillsboro January 9.

A LARK SPARROW was seen January 6 in Minto-Brown Park in Salem. A first
winter GLAUCOUS GULL was along State Street in Salem January 7. Two
RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS are now at Ankeny NWR. A WILSON'S WARBLER was at a
Monmouth birdbath January 4.

The LONG-TAILED DUCK continues to be seen at Detroit Reservoir and at
Biggs on the Columbia River. A PACIFIC LOON was at Biggs January 6.

Two TREE SPARROWS and a RED-SHOULDERED HAWK are now at the Miller Island
SWA south of Klamath Falls, and another RED-SHOULDERED is at the south
end of Upper Klamath Lake.
