?Feeling Owly? The days are short and the nights are long.
Could this be the perfect time to search for owls? Are they
really nocturnal? Just how wise are owls? Please join us in
our search for answers to these secretive and fascinating
birds. Rainier Audubon is delighted to welcome Washington
State Owl expert,. Andy, an orchardist from Wapato as well
as a conservationist and naturalist, will share with us his
extensive knowledge of owls. He is most interested in the
owls of the northern forest: the Great Gray Owl, the Boreal
Owl and the Northern Hawk-Owl. In addition, he will discuss
the remainder of the 15 species of owls found in Washington
State including their habits, distinctive markings and
calls.

Finally, we will learn where to look for and find these
wonderful creatures. Andy is also the author of the ?Birds
of Yakima County" available from Yakima Valley Audubon
Society at www.yakimaaudubon.org or (509)452-3260. This
promises to be a terrific program. The public is welcome and
encouraged to attend.

Contact: Rainier Audubon at (253) 939-6411 for more
information

Membership meetings are FREE and open to the general
public.
