Marvin Cooper and I got an early start this morning (1/13/01) and viewed the
WHITE IBIS at 8:00AM on the Crawford farm 7 miles west of Lebam in Pacific
County, WA. Many thanks to Bob Morse for his Tweeters message dated Jan.
11.
Then we headed north to Tacoma. The minute we left the car on Rustin Way
Marvin spotted the albino YELLOW-BILLED LOON under the fisherman's dock near
Shenanigan's Restaurant. As close as we wanted for as long as we wanted.
Nice bird.
Next was Point No Point on the northern tip of the Kitsap Peninsula, where
we missed the ARCTIC LOON.
We also missed the GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE in Stanwood. It was late in the
afternoon by this time.
Two SNOWY OWLS remain at Big Ditch north of Stanwood along with a
SHORT-EARED OWL.
It was a good day.
