Tweeters,

I arrived at the Stanwood Wolfkill Grain Lot at Noon, Sat. 1/13, and at once
found the Great-tailed Grackle perched on the line above the road with a
mixed starling and blackbird flock. As soon as I parked the Grackle dropped
down right in front of my car to the ground to pick up a piece of bread or
something and casually walked around the car foraging. I watched the
Grackle from 12 to 12:30 at this location and then proceeded north to the
Hawk Owl site. I arrived there at 1:30pm and found a group of scopes beside
the road with birders peering through their eyepieces. Great looks at the
Hawk Owl perched on the top of a tree preening in the sunlight. I observed
the Owl until 2:30pm, seeing it fly several times from treetop to treetop,
staying in constant view the entire time. What a great day!
