Subject: which newsmedia has time for swans?

Hi all, On Thursday I sent most western WA newsmedia a press release with
information on the Trumpeter Swan dieoff in north Whatcom County, with 45 dead
swans so far (2nd year in a row for mass fatalities: 100 total last year).
Lead shot is blamed and there are two issues involved, banning lead shot in
upland gamebird hunting for ever here and in Canada and second, finding the
source of the shot that is killing the Trumpeters that roost at Boundary Lake.
Oh, and one third issue, doing these things before Y3K. It'll be interesting
to see if and which newsmedia have time for these birds, especially in light
of the great national press Western Washington got over the holidays with an
AP wire story on Trumpeters wintering here that ran all over the country. A
friend told me today that KUOW had a story on it yesterday, so major kudos for
them. I haven't been able to watch or listen, but that's the only story I've
heard of so far.
