Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
report was made Thursday January 18. If you have anything to add call

An adult gray phase GYRFALCON was along Fenk Road west of Tillamook
January 17. A female TUFTED DUCK was reported January 13 in the River S
Unit of Ridgefield NWR. The YELLOW-BILLED LOON was seen again January 15
on Wallowa Lake in northeast Oregon. The SNOWY OWL continues to be seen
at the South Jetty of the Columbia River. A LAPLAND LONGSPUR is also in
the South Jetty area.

Two SNOW BUNTINGS were at Baker Beach, north of Florence January 14. Two
ROCK SANDPIPERS are still being seen on the South Jetty of the Siuslaw
River. Eight SNOW GEESE are now along Fenk Road west of Tillamook. The
HERMIT WARBLER is still coming to an Astoria feeder.

Three RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS are now at Ridgefield NWR and another is in
Woodland Bottoms. On January 12 the EMPEROR GOOSE was along Rentenaar
Road on the east side of Sauvie Island. Several hundred SANDHILL CRANES
are still being seen in the Sauvie Island/Ridgefield area.

There are now four male EURASIAN WIGEON at Westmoreland Park in southeast
Portland. A EURASIAN GREEN-WINGED TEAL, a pure white gull, a WESTERN
GULL, and the RED-SHOULDERED HAWK were seen at the Fernhill Wetlands in
Forest Grove during the week.

On January 11 a flock of 13 CHIPPING SPARROWS were at the berry patch
along Campbell Road, south of Hillsboro. TRICOLORED BLACKBIRDS are still
being seen with the blackbird flock along Elkins Road south of Monmouth.

The ROSS'S GOOSE was seen again January 16 in a flock of CACKLING GEESE
south of Dayton. A TURKEY VULTURE was between Albany and Corvallis
January 15.

Last week-end a LAPLAND LONGSPUR was near Lostine, and 20 LONGSPURS,
several large flocks of SNOW BUNTINGS, and a couple of coveys of GRAY
PARTRIDGE were along Golf Course Road out of Enterprise. Quite a few
BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS are still in the area.
