$800/mo. living stipend; covered by health insurance; receive education
award of $4,725 for prior student loans or future education; up to $200
for education and training; covered by Labor & Industries Insurance;
may postpone student loan repayments while employed.

Will assist the Refuge in conducting landbird monitoring and habitat
restoration projects. Duties include set-up and shut-down of mist-net and
banding stations; proper removal and handling of birds from mist-nets;
conducting habitat assessments of banding sites (including identification
of native and introduced plant species); computer data entry,
summarization, and analysis; noxious weed control; and native plant
restoration. Requires some experience handling small birds; working with
mist-nets; identifying plants; excellent computer skills including working
with spreadsheets and databases; excellent ability to work with others
including volunteer groups; excellent written and oral communication
skills. Must be 18-25 yrs. old; must be willing to serve a 40/hr.wk., 11
month term; must be U.S. citizen or national, or permanent resident alien
of the U.S.; have a high school diploma or GED or agree to obtain one
while serving; have not previously served two terms in an AmeriCorps state
