Columbia Estuary Report 01/24/2001

A PALM WARBLER was with OREGON JUNCOS this morning in my
front yard (new yard bird).

Three SHORT-EARED OWLS and a NORTHERN HARRIER were at King
Av on Sunday. A noisy ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was in the
blackberries near the gate.

A EURASIAN WIGEON is in the wigeon flock in the slough at
DelMoor Loop off Hwy 101 between Astoria and Seaside. Also
there are courting WOOD DUCKS.

There are plenty of TUNDRA SWANS at Brownsmead. At least
2 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS were on Jackson Rd Monday. A GREATER
WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE was with CANADA GEESE, AMERICAN WIGEON
and fake EMPEROR GEESE at the Ziak Refuge.

Mike Patterson Alas, to wear the mantle of Galileo,
Astoria, OR it is not enough to be persecuted
celata at pacifier.com by an unkind establishment,
you must also be right.
