On 1/24 I was doing the monthly bird census at the Steigerwald Lake
N.W.R., near Washougal in Clark County, and came across a juvenile
RED-SHOULDERED HAWK. This is only the third one I have seen on this
refuge at the Western entrance to the Columbia River Gorge, although it
is the fourth R.S. Hawk that I've seen in Clark County in the last five
weeks.
