When I drove Lower Crab Creek Road on my way to Lind, WA this past summer
for the Combine Demolition Derby, there was a spot where we had to stop
the truck for fear of crushing thousands of dragonflies. Of course we
really wouldn't have, if we had driven slowly, but it was simply so
amazing we just had to stop and watch the flow of 'em. I highly recommend
checking this area out in mid-summer. Such a mix of dragonflies, all
shapes and sizes and colors! The best were mixed in with a bunch of cows,
all mucking about (literally) in some rather noxious mud.
