Hello, this is the Audubon Society of Portland Rare Bird Report. This
report was made Thursday January 15. If you have anything to add call

A bright male SUMMER TANAGER is being reported from the Cedar Mill
section of northwest Portland. It is being seen in the residential area
north of the intersection of Cornell Road and Murray Blvd.

The Netarts Bay YELLOW-BILLED LOON continues to be seen as is the SNOWY
OWL at the South Jetty of the Columbia River. A male BROAD-TAILED
HUMMINGBIRD is now being seen in the Rogue Valley at Mingus Marsh in
Central Point.

Last week-end a SNOW BUNTING was at the North Jetty of the Siuslaw River
and two more were a few miles farther north at Baker Beach.

A probable FERRUGINOUS HAWK was reported January 15 at Ridgefield NWR and
another probable FERRUGINOUS was in Cornelius January 20. During the week
a subadult EMPEROR GOOSE was near Post Office Lake in Ridgefield NWR and
an adult was along Rentenaar Road on Sauvie Island. A BRANT was on the
east side of the Island January 20 and a subadult GLAUCOUS GULL was along
Gillihan Road on the Island January 23.

A noisy BLACK PHOEBE was two miles south of Dayton January 21. A HERMIT
WARBLER was at a suet feeding in Corvallis January 19. A SAY'S PHOEBE was
north of Eugene January 22 and one was north of Brownsville January 24.
Two WHITE PELICANS were wintering again this year at Fern Ridge
Reservoir.

A small flock of LARK SPARROWS was in the Rogue Valley near Jacksonville
Janaury 24.
