I totally agree with Jon on this issue. Trapping is not the only available
alternatives to starling control... one could use techniques to reduce
reproductive rates such as destroying nests and eggs (note: sticking a pin
in the egg is much more effective as simply destroying the egg/nest because
the starling may attempt to build a new one).
Other possibilities include using chemosterilants such as Ornithol (often
used on pigeons). Of course this requires licensing and is an institutional
solution.
