This morning in Two Rivers County Park (Washington DeLorme page 39, 8-C) I
witnessed a immature NORTHERN GOSHAWK buzz through a tree roosting flock of
BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS, scattering them like popcorn popping in a
lidless frying pan.
Couldn't discern if it was seriously considering the BCNH as prey or if it
has just blundered among them incidently. In any case, it was a great show
which was improved by having the raptor then come to roost overhead only 30
feet away from me.
