Gleefully?! Who's gleeful about it? This kind of hyperbolic accusation
does your case no good.

Can't you at least grant that folks who advocate killing starlings do it
out of concern for other species, like purple martins? I'd never kill a
starling myself, but I don't think folks who do this are motivated by
bloodlust, for crying out loud. In cases where human-introduced nonnative
species threaten native species, the questions involved don't have easy
answers. Those whose answers differ from yours aren't evil.
