On my third try, I finally got good looks at the Snohomish Gyr at 1:00 PM
today. Full sun provided a good look at colors and markings. Because its
back was to the viewing site on Snohomish Monroe Rd, I also pulled into the
dirt road just north toward Snohomish and put the scope on the front of the
bird. It's a long distance, but the bright light clearly showed the light
breast and markings.

A beautiful bird!
