You mean you haven't heard about the Vancouver, BC birders nabbing the
Lesser Black-backed Gull and transporting it to the environs of the
Boundary Bay airport so they could count it for their Canadian and
B.C. lists? Well if not, read the following excerpt from yesterday's
Vancouver Rare Bird Alert transcript, and weep.

Seriously, I have no idea whether the Vancouver area LBBG could be the
same one as reported from the Walla Walla River mouth in late
December, and from Richland in early January. The Vancouver bird is
reported as being a 3rd winter individual; I don't remember anyone
describing the age of the Lower Columbia bird on Tweeters. The way
gulls move around, though, it does not seem impossible that
occurrences in south-central WA and southwestern BC could involve the
same bird.

The intriguing possibly now exists that some dedicated birder could
find LESSER BLACK-BACKED, BLACK-HEADED, and SLATY-BACKED GULL all in
the same day in Delta. Sheesh!
