Hello Tweeters,
Spent this morning at Windust Park along the Snake River, just below
Lower Monumental Dam (sorry, don't have my DeLorme to hand). On my way
through Connell & Kahlotus saw lots of kestrels on road signs and flocks
of meadowlarks. At the park, the trees were full of American
Goldfinches. On the river were several pairs of Common Goldeneye and a
couple pair of Buffleheads. There were also plenty of Canada Goose. Just
after I left the park saw a beautiful Red-Tail Hawk swooping over the
road.
It would have been better if there had been some sun, I have trouble
seeing colors & markings when it's cloudy like this. So I undoubtedly
missed some birds that were around; I only mentioned the ones I could
identify for sure. There was a skiff of snow so the roads were a little
icy at first, but cleared by the time I came home.
