The Great-tailed Grackle in Stanwood, WA was found again this morning, very
near to where he was seen the first time by Alan Knue and Michael Donahue.
Back on Jan 7, 01 he was seen by Alan and Michael on an antenna of the house
at 27259 102nd Ave NW, just south of where 102nd becomes the Old Pacific
Highway and the cross street is 276th. This morning at 8:15AM, 11 of us on
a Rainier Audubon trip saw the Grackle again after it hadn't been seen by
anyone for more than a week. We saw it on top of a telephone pole next to a
small business bldg. on 102nd which says Nelson Foley Attorney. The house
just south of the little bldg. says 27416 - 102nd Ave NW so it was very
close to the original location. We all saw the Grackle, but then it flew
south to a pine tree, and we didn't see it again.
Other notable sightings on our trip were two Snowy Owls at Big Ditch, a Male
Redhead at the Stanwood Sewer Ponds, and over 70 Black Turnstones
accompanied by a Surfbird close in on rocks at Camano Island State Park.
